The Digital Team took home three awards in the 2012 Local Community Web Site Contest, which represents the top Web initiatives from community and suburban newspapers across North America.
The Local Media Association, an organization representing the suburban and community newspaper industry in the U.S. and Canada, honored daily and non-daily newspapers of various circulation sizes in its contest. The staff and faculty of the Missouri School of Journalism and the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute judged entries based on the newspaper’s paid content, investigative reporting, breaking news, use of social media and online sales initiatives.
